Eugene R. Baker, President

GBI-BAKER.jpgEugene R. Baker, a Registered Professional Land Surveyor, has more than 30 years of experience in providing surveying services in the Texas area. Gene is the founder and president of GBI Partners, L.P., a professional land surveying company located in Houston. GBI Surveying has provided boundary and topography surveys, construction phase management services and engineering support since 1997.

Gene has specifically managed the surveying for numerous land development projects, Texas Department of Transportation Right-of-Way acquisitions, aerial mapping and municipal projects. He is accustomed to managing and planning surveying procedures for a wide spectrum of projects. He currently manages a combined office and field staff of more than 30 people.

James E. Dyer, Vice President

GBI-DYER.jpgJames “Jimy” Dyer joined GBI Surveying in 2004 and has more than 13 years of office and field experience in the surveying industry. Jimy became a partner in 2007, specializing in Construction Phase Management and works closely with field crews and technicians to ensure efficiency and quality. He has managed and engaged in a broad field of land-development surveying, subdivision platting, route surveying, right-of-way acquisition engineering design, Texas MUD creation and construction layout.

He implements a “team mentality” approach while working with engineers, planners and architects. His ability to maintain close and enduring relationships with clients makes him a key player for GBI Surveying.

Community Involvement:

  • Current member of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors.

Jon P. Bordovsky, Vice President

Bordovsky has been with GBI Surveying since 2003 and has more than 13 years in office and field experience in boundary, residential subdivision, engineering design, construction layout and Texas municipal project surveying. Jon became a partner in 2007 as the head of Engineering Support Services and serves as an invaluable resource for the GBI team.

He is currently working toward a surveying degree at the University of Houston and actively pursues surveying education including the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors short course basic and the TSPS short course advanced.

Accomplishments and Recognition:

  • Project Manager for developmental surveying projects in Sienna Plantation, Seven Meadows, Cinco Ranch, Long Meadows, Aliana and Brays Bayou

Michael W. Hall, Project Manager

GBI-HALL.jpgMichael W. Hall, a Registered Professional Land Surveyor, has over 13 years of experience in providing surveying services. Mr. Hall graduated from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in Geographical Studies. He is proficient at many aspects of land surveying including boundary resolution, land acquisition, land development, subdivision platting, topographical surveys and construction phase services.

Mr. Hall has managed surveying services for numerous private developers and contractors. He has also provided services for public sector entities such as North Fort Bend Water Authority, Texas Department of Transportation, San Jacinto Water Authority, Harris County Flood Control District, City of Houston, University of Houston, Houston Independent School District and many Municipal Utility Districts in and around the Houston/Galveston metropolitan area.

Nicolas H. Vann, Survey Technician

GBI-VANN.jpgNicolas H. Vann joined GBI in 2003. He has worked his way from a beginning Rodman position to Project Manager. He graduated from Texas A&M University in 2007 with an Environmental/Biology degree and in the spring of 2009 he passed the Fundamentals of Surveying Examination. He is currently preparing to take the Texas Specific Surveyors’ Examination in April of 2012 and becoming a Registered Professional Land Surveyor. Mr. Vann has managed several construction phase projects, boundary surveys and engineering support services.

Mr. Vann is currently managing the Potable Water Rehabilitation project at the Johnson Space Center and several North Fort Bend Water Authority surface connection projects.
